These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the MyBibleSpark mobile application (“MyBibleSpark,” “the app,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) on iOS and Android. By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
The Service
MyBibleSpark is a personalized daily Bible companion. Based on a mood and spiritual goal you select, the app provides a daily scripture passage, a short reflection, and related features such as reading history and optional daily reminders. Some features are offered free of charge; others require a paid subscription as described below.
Eligibility
MyBibleSpark is not directed at children under 13 years of age. By using the app, you represent that you are at least 13 years old, or that you are using the app under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms.
License to Use the App
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use one copy of the app on a device that you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use. This license is governed by the rules of the app store from which you obtained the app.
AI-Generated Content
Scripture selections and reflections in MyBibleSpark are generated with the assistance of a third-party artificial intelligence service (the Claude API, operated by Anthropic, PBC). While we strive for accuracy and relevance, AI-generated content may contain errors, omissions, or misattributed references, and may not reflect any particular theological tradition or doctrine.
Content provided by the app is offered for personal devotional and informational purposes only. It is not a substitute for an authoritative Bible translation, professional pastoral counsel, or qualified medical, mental-health, legal, or financial advice. You are responsible for verifying any scripture reference against a trusted source and for any decisions you make based on the app’s content.
Subscriptions, Billing, and Free Trials
MyBibleSpark offers an optional auto-renewing subscription for premium access.
- Billing. Payment is charged to your Apple App Store or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase. The price and billing period are shown in the app at the time of purchase.
- Auto-renewal. Your subscription automatically renews for the same period at the then-current price unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
- Free trial. If a free trial is offered, any unused portion of the trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable.
- Managing and canceling. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your device’s account settings (App Store or Google Play). Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.
- Refunds. All purchases are handled by Apple or Google and are subject to their respective refund policies. We do not process payments and cannot issue refunds directly.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- use the app for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
- copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the app, or reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code, except where such restriction is prohibited by law;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to, interfere with, or disrupt the app or its underlying services, including the third-party AI service;
- use the app in any manner that could damage, disable, or impair its operation, or attempt to circumvent usage limits or subscription requirements.
Intellectual Property
The app, including its design, code, text, graphics, and the “MyBibleSpark” name and logo, is owned by us and protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited license granted above, these Terms do not grant you any rights in the app or our trademarks. Scripture text is provided through the AI service and remains subject to the rights of its respective translation owners.
Third-Party Services
The app relies on third-party services, including the Anthropic Claude API and the Apple App Store and Google Play stores. Your use of those services may be governed by their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for the content, practices, or availability of third-party services. Our handling of your data is described in our Privacy Policy.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The app is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that AI-generated content will be accurate or complete.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the app. To the extent any liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months preceding the claim, or USD $10.
Apple App Store — Additional Terms
If you obtained the app from the Apple App Store, the following also applies. These Terms are an agreement between you and us, not with Apple Inc. (“Apple”). Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. In the event of any failure of the app to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app, including product-liability, regulatory, or intellectual-property claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo and are not on any U.S. Government restricted-parties list.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the app at any time if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual-property, disclaimer, and limitation-of-liability terms — will survive.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which we operate, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where local consumer- protection law requires otherwise.
