Frequently Asked Questions

How do I cancel my subscription?

Open the app, go to Settings → Manage Subscription, and cancel from there — this opens Apple’s or Google’s own subscription management. You can also cancel directly in your device’s App Store or Google Play account settings. Canceling stops future renewals; you’ll keep access through the end of the period you already paid for.

Do I need an account to use the app?

No. When you request your first passage you can choose Continue as guest, and you can keep using the app — and subscribe — that way for as long as you like.

The one thing an account gives you is a saved passage history. As a guest your passages aren’t saved, so there’s nothing to sync between devices and nothing to recover if you reinstall. You can sign in later at any time from Settings → Sign In, and your subscription comes with you.

How do I restore a purchase?

Open Settings → Restore Purchases. This works whether or not you’re signed in, so it’s also how you recover a subscription bought as a guest after reinstalling or moving to a new phone. Purchases are tied to the Apple ID or Google account you bought them with, so use the same one.

How many passages do I get, and when do they reset?

Daily passages are a subscription feature. Subscribing to Basic or Premium starts a 3-day free trial — no charge during the trial, and you can cancel any time before it ends. The trial is not throttled: you get your full allowance from the first day, which is 10 passages/day on Basic and 25/day on Premium. Your remaining passages for today and, if applicable, your trial end date are shown in Settings. The count resets at midnight UTC, which may be a few hours off from your local midnight.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings → Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account and reading history and cannot be undone. Deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription — cancel that separately in your App Store or Google Play settings first if you don’t want to be charged again.

If you’re using the app as a guest you won’t see this option, because there’s no account and no saved history to delete. Email us if you’d like your guest identifier removed — cancel any active subscription with Apple or Google first, as deleting it also removes the record that connects you to that subscription.

How do I turn off daily reminders?

Go to Settings → Daily reminder and toggle it off, or disable notifications for MyBibleSpark in your device’s system settings.

The app says I’ve hit my daily limit

Your daily passage limit depends on your subscription tier — see Settings for your current limit and how many you’ve used today. It resets at midnight UTC, which may be a few hours off from your local midnight.

Guests and signed-in users get exactly the same allowance; continuing as a guest doesn’t reduce what you can read.

It’s asking me to subscribe, but I already have

Tap Already subscribed? Restore on that screen, or go to Settings → Restore Purchases. This usually means your subscription is attached to a session this device no longer has — most often after a device restore or a switch to a new phone while using the app as a guest. Restoring reattaches it to this device. Use the same Apple ID or Google account you originally subscribed with.

I’m having trouble signing in

Make sure you’re connected to the internet and using the same sign-in method (Apple or Google) you used originally — each is treated as a separate account. Remember you don’t have to sign in at all: Continue as guest works for everything except saved history. If you’re still stuck, email us and we’ll help sort it out.
